The holidays
Are upon us
The season
Of spending
Presents
And greed
It's sad that we
Have come to
See these things
As the meaning
Of the season
Instead of
It being
What it should be
For everybody
Reguardless
Of religious
Belief
A time to
Reflect
And reach out
To your
Fellow man
Any way
You possibly can
Don't you see
That is what
The holidays
Are really about
Giving not recieving
Giving what you can
To help someone
Not because
You have to
But because
You do and should
Truly want to
Because it is
The right
Thing to do
Because
You want
To make a
Difference
To someone
Anyway
That you can
That is what
The holidays
Mean to me
What about you?
I agree. I actually hate
I agree. I actually hate shopping and so I have always grasped the true meaning of holidays. Give in ways that really mean something. It's not all about the money and how large the gift pile is. It's about cooking that big breakfast...hugging the people you love...actually telling them that you love them.
"It is a terrible thing to be so open. It is as if my heart put on a face and walked into the world" -- Sylvia Plath.
