Dragonnira's Dream
The trees sway to and fro,
as their chorus stirs about the land,
sunlight fades and nighttime begins to grow,
as the ancient hourglass accumulates sand.
A breeze flows through the valley ever so light,
the atmosphere takes on a solemn chill,
while the world fades from sight,
shadows drift along the ground taking their fill.
The moon gazes down upon it's claim,
as shimmering waterfalls rush forth,
crystal clear droplets fall en mass never the same,
from the grand pond a serpent like stream slinks north.
Weathered and worn the majestic cliff watches over the falls,
upon the silent sentry huddles a figure against the stars,
emerald eyes gazing outward turn within to mental halls,
walking amongst memories accompanied by physical scars.
She remains rapt with grim features,
her father's hand upon her throat,
eerie laughter from mocking creatures,
struggling to free herself from the turn-coat.
Flashes of red and the warmth of blood rush back into view,
a beating heart held in her hand ebbing away,
her father's laughter in her ears as the life she held faded like the morning dew,
thousands die as shards of mental composure fail to hold insanity at bay.
Blood soaked ground glistens under a lunatic moon,
after the deeds have been done law enforcement capture the tormented soul,
imprisoned for her crimes amongst ice and rune,
light and sound fade to black as the memory completes its goal.
Swimming out of the past and back to the now,
her heart aches as she shivers in the night,
a cold sweat forms upon her brow,
she can't change the past only strive for the right.
A small smile spreads across her moist lips as she ponders what is ahead,
through the eons life is still worth living especially if given a second chance,
although once damaged her heart has found promise in another and is raised from the dead,
a tear slips down past her cheek as the sun rises in the east continuing the celestial dance.
