Ramblings at 4:28a.m.

Through the air phasers blast,

as I sit and my cares away I cast,

I read of the voyages of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D,

as my eyes fill with light and my heart with glee.

I lay and look at the night sky,

wondering of Geordi, Data, & Troy...I sigh,

my mind streaks forth into the night,

going at what seems like the speed of light.

What would this world be like,

if we were on starships in space?

I'd say hand that man a mike,

and sit back and hear his tales while watching his face.

Then I'd probably wish of simpler times,

when men were men and women were the wise,

crossed weren't the lines,

and large was the world's size.

Oh how I wish and think and see,

man will never be truly happy no matter where he'll be

Why seek the future when it will not be the vision,

maybe we should find a better mission?

If we wish to accept it,

off our perch we might get hit,

but isn't that what chances are for?,

To strive and obtain more?

I lay and look at the sky,

and think...my oh my...

We often get things mixed up,

like a tail chasing pup.

I drift off into a slumber sweet,

and a calmness washes over me.

Oh how I can't wait for Him to greet,

and someday that future we will see.
