It is raining in my heart.
We've seen these floods before.
I thought those stables had been washed out years ago.
But I guess a reckoning was coming
And so was the new rain
One which can never wash away the pain.
For I had never learned to love
I had never learned to fly
I had never learned to be the sky
Not the clouds
Those same clouds that surround me now
Dark and ominous
Shedding their tears of loss, of grief, of pain.
But the rain can be quenching
It can water my greener pastures of growth
And the rain drops will collect
And fill in the you-shaped hole in my soul
A formidable puddle.
It will reflect the welcome sun
Once he shows his face again
And brightens everything
With a rainbow.
