It all seems like a dream to me

Except I'm wide awake

Trying to outrun the truth

Hiding in wide open space



Can't hide the fear

Can't make it go away

Longing for normalcy

Not knowing what that is



Finding solace in simple things

Laughing through the tears

Discovering new sides of me

And sealing up my wounds



Fighting free of a damaged past

Thinking of starting anew

Running it over in my head

And then I think of you



Free in your spirit to roam

Free to do as you please

Always making me smile

With the slightest ease



Over and over again you've been my friend

Helped me see me

Waded the waters of my fears

And kept me safly ashore



Such a deep bond

This friendship will last

It will be timeless

It will be true



And to the end

I'll have you by my side

Never alone

Always beside



Take my heart

It's always been yours
