On a cool black March evening
Not far from Cahersiveen
Evil cast it's dark shadow
Over our beautiful Kerry home
The savages were not Saxon
Or servants of the Crown
But our fellow Irish Gael
Their sworn oaths now defiled
The brutal Dublin guard
They marched our men away
To that lonely spot at Bahaghs
Murder was all their minds possessed
To ensure their callous deed
In the legs each man was shot
Our crippled lads over bombs were laid
By those murderous uniformed thugs
As the bomb went off
The ancient banshee cried
Five more brave sons of Erin lost
In heaven they now dwell
Courtney and Sugrue not forgotten
Shea, Riordan, Dwyer we'll never forget
You gallant lads of the Kerry brigade
Your deaths were not in vain
Your spirits still live on
In the actions of the few
The struggle for freedom continues
Whilst Gaels like you remain
