Lost Cause

Heart as cold as stone

Kind intentions go unseen

Rebukes the group and hangs alone

Trying not to act so mean

Wears his heart on his sleeve

Eyes make a look of sorrow

Would rather get up and leave

Then face a coming tomorrow

This black soul looks upon an angel, feeling joy reborn

A forgotten smile shows on his face

She turns and schmites him with her scorn

Lowers his head in disgrace

How could he ever think she would see the good in him?

And how could he ever hope, her love he would win?

Wish he had the courage to tell her how he feels

But it will never happen, no…never will be real

And with a pause…a lost cause…marches off to nothing
