…and here between

lambent moonbeams spill out
white washing nights shadow
waking darkness to the beauty of the moment
when honesty traces desire
across shimmering contours
silently aroused with fingertip precision
as time breaks and an eternity is spent
between dusk and dawn
wherein a lifetime of love is shared
…..with no regrets

and here within the innocence
of two hearts that know no bounds
beneath the soft glow of midnight
I know nothing more than one simple truth
I would give you the whole of my world
for one brush of your lips against mine
....even if it’s just this one time

if my words could openly speak my soul
seeking the validation I desperately need
I might not have to leave here so soon…
but when your heart
hides your truth so perfectly
within the prosaic pulse
of each and every day

-that truth that shimmers
so exquisitely here tonight-

how could I possibly stay?

though your unfeigned gaze
seems to betray your everyday stance
it isn’t enough to make me feel
you really want me here
forever inside the tender tempo
of your heart

and now as we find ourselves
upon the subtle cusp of dawn
I want you to know that when the sun rises
and day brings with it all the truths of this night
….know in that moment my love for you
will never be any less than it is right now
here in this place where I memorized
the aroma of your spirit
and the soft beat of your heart
here in this space that for a moment
we called our own
here where I loved you
for an eternity in just one night
here where I never wanted
to say good-bye…
