Once upon a kismet kissed Moon

In the shimmer of night we dare
to know the depth of each
and every star

because in that moment long ago
before time ever began to tick
we knew each other's souls intimately

and there I held you so close to me
as my heart whispered you real
declaring our love's truth
upon a promise of tomorrow

etching our vows of eternity
across all we could see
until breaking stars fell
from betrayed skies
and earth retreated into darkness
swallowing all that ever was
into the depths of an unknown

before being born again
and recreating life
liberating all those souls
misplaced somewhere
within destiny's dream

and dewdrops cried tears
of lover’s hearts lost in rebirth
but Dawn, she just kept smiling
knowing time’s truth
that every road we walk
is really just another path
etched by ancient stars

and even though the world is new
the night is certainly not

and here on this night
within a shimmer of possibility
a kismet kissed moon
gently holds a memory
and a tender dream
…of you and I
