Some bird’s songs
have been lost through the wind
or killed by the dreariness
of the confinement of capture.
But others, the brave ones,
set free of their cages,
send beautiful songs
to the birds who feel
stuck, sad, and stolen.
And those are the birds
who write some of the best songs.
