The Queen of Love

Have I an inkling of a chance with Love?
I think not!
For if she had wanted me in Her court,
Would I not be there?
Has She knocked upon my door and being weary
I did not answer?
Does She grieve for me, who missed her chance,
At life's infectious force?
I dare not believe She passed me by
Without a thought or whim,
For if She did, what hope have I,
To meet Her face to face?
So now to sit, to sit and wait,
For Her to come my way?
I might as well go out and look,
Searching for Her throne.
And if I should find that mighty throne,
I may find Love as well.
