Within me, my heart lay heavy and
I wore my sorrow like a cloak.
The joys of the past were but a distant warm glow,
they faded away, slowly but surely,
like diying embers left in the rain.
I no longer laughed or looked forward to a new day,
I lived with apathy, dispair and pain.
Deep within me,without any doubts,
I knew that I was a soul in dire need of redemption.
Then you came into my life!
With you, you brought the sun,
Your love and kindness brought warmth and brilliance into my life.
I never knew that the birds would sing again,
that the sun would shine again,
or that the sky would ever be so blue
