Time



The Past is gone...the Future doesn't yet exist

Only the present is real

If it weren't for time I could live forever

I want to go back to my highschool days

To be three feet tall and sit in my Mother's lap

I want to be a newlywed again

To see the future...I don't want to die

But time won't let me

So let's kill time

I hate alarm clocks

Ridiculous to change the clocks for daylights savings time

How can you just take away an hour like that?

Remember in 1978 when Nixon took two hours from the coal companies?

Mom says, "The older I get the faster time goes"

"The years just fly by"

Everytime I turn around it's Christmas or Thanksgiving

Five minutes lasts three hours

But the next time you look at your watch it's two in the morning

Airport time...school time...work time

Sex time...street time...sleep time

Fast or slow...passing

It all passes

How can I get from the door to the bed

From the sink to the closet

How can highschool end, how can I be married

How can I finish college...with a PhD

It's terrifying to think you'll die

And someday it'll all be over

It's enough to make a person commit suicide

But some people say...

That the world is the sum of their total sensations

A day whether 8,9 or 9,000 years ago

Is just as near the present as yesterday

That all time is contained in a present-now moment

Time is not made of locations but events

Some people claim that one's life is eternal

Just a permanent unchanging pattern in space time

Space may be a shadow...

Time passing an illusion in the fourth dimension

But all I know is that I can't see the fouth dimension

Another day passed and there they are

Trying to claim the pasing of time is an illusion

I tell this to my Grandfather

Who has wild gray hair and elephant wrinkles

He sighs wearily and says...

"All i know about time is that you grow old and die".
