Phantom Love
I feel you coming on the night,
A shadowed kiss of sultry lip-
Scalding fingers trace my hip,
A phantom love in gilded light.
I taste your flesh within the rain,
The salty taste of sweat and need-
The burning blood on which I feed
Where pleasure courts the pain.
Within the wind I breathe your scent,
Which ushers ache and longing in,
To smell again the carnal sin-
The spicy tang of passions spent.
In reverent silence your voice does call-
An epic song of shadowed soul-
That flesh to flesh shall make us whole;
Of love and lust and beauty's thrall.
Of darkness born, in darkness adore-
This promise I see in silvered eye;
I shall whisper dawn my last goodbye
And seek night alone no more.
