If The World Were But a Poem
If the World Were But a Poem
And the sea a well of ink
Writing brooks upon the land;
Searching for its link.
If the world were but a poem
And punctuation are the stars
Providing strong structure and light
To see the words on Mars.
If the world were but a poem
And the trees provide the rhyme;
The sea unsure to flow the brooks
To a chestnut oak or pine.
If the world were but a poem
Sweet flowing like the sky
I'd be but just a tittle,
A dot above an "i".
