As Morning Paints
Falling out of starlight
I stretched within my bed
With sleepy eyes and dreamy smiles
And hair mussed on my head
Sunlight warmed my window
Painting light upon my skin
Gentle ray- dreams of shining gold
Soothed shadows deep within
My lashes fluttered one last time
And kissed my cheek goodbye
I thought of how you looked last night
And softly breathed a sigh
'Twas time to rise from slumbers' arms
And greet my busy day
As morning's lazy happiness
Began to fade away
Twisting tendrils of cotton sheets
Caressed my naked skin
As I turned to see your smile I knew
My day could wait to begin.
