A Travelers Soul
Every since I was a child
I’ve had the eyes
Of a traveler, a lost soul.
One who needs to move,
Who can’t let her feet
Touch down on the ground.
I need to run, to fly, to escape.
They told my mother
Hold on to this one,
She’s gonna be gone soon enough.
Just look at her eyes
A soul is trapped.
They said to my mother
She is haunted
And I was, so I ran.
Chased by the demons,
Not ready to give up
The fight rages on and.
Still I run the run
Of a traveler’s soul
Unfettered, leading me
Never allowing me to slow down.
Barely able to keep up,
This is who I am.
Never get too close,
You’ll only be hurt,
My traveler’s soul
Beckons me forth.
My need to run to fly to escape
Is stronger than anything
And the mark of a traveler
Is easily recognizable.
