Twenty-four hours all my own
Twenty-four hours to be alone
Where's my brush and paint tubes too
There's just one thing I want to do
Paint all day, no interruption
Paint it right with no corruption.
No meals to cook and clean up after,
For twenty-four hours I'm not a grafter.
No-one wanting cups of tea
The only one is me, me, me!
Chocolate to inspire my brain
So I can paint again, again.
Day to myself, oh what a dream!
But things are not always as they seem.
Sadly it's not really real
There is no day that I can steal
But it's a lovely reverie
Twenty four hours just for me.
