Autumnal breeze caressing trees
as dusk bedarkens painted skies,
sinking sun, his journey done.
Serene, night's velvet curtain lies.
Wild bird flocks at equinox
spread wings, migrate to warmer clime
as Summer's heat begins to fleet:
instinctively they know their time
At Autumn's call sweet berries fall,
leaves last dance to bid adieu,
red-gold blaze through Autumn days
to lay a carpet for the dew.
