Standing silent on the beach
in grey of morning light,
eyes upturned to watch in awe
gulls wings of carefree flight.
From the sea a globe appeared,
a golden, glowing orb,
it lit the sky with burning fire
the waves did then absorb.
It lit my mind, it lit my heart,
it set my soul to burning
filling me with light of joy,
a nameless, feral yearning.
The salty sea spray spiced the air
with diamond drops like gems,
falling back upon the rocks
like liquid diadems.
