NEPTUNE’S NETS
Summer sky returns with its secretive light
Spectrals sweep across the sky,
Vague vapid vapors move along silently,
The silence is more palpable than the earth.
In this crisis of beckoning silence and light
You merged the ocean’s lives to fire’s lives:
Gray motions of autumn’s ship’s ahoy,
The shape that our love impressed on the violin.
Yes, my love, moistened by the mermaid’ spray,
Fire swirls to light the mist up invisible ladders.
Arousing the caverns and caves of sleeplessness;
Whereupon cascading waves subside in the sky,
The sea has amnesia to all it’s unconsciousness,
And the whole world falls into Neptune’s nets.
