THE DIFFICULT THOUGHT

THE DIFFICULT THOUGHT

Always there is something that is separating; men

And women walk together on the road of separation.

We shed many skins and take many leaves in life.

Each drop of water has a griffin inside defending its

Gold; there is always the territorial imperative that

Forces a boundary and draws a line of separation.

We knew nothing of this as we floated in our mother’s

Womb; however, when we had to suckle from her

Breast for milk, we realized that this was separation.

This planetary orb with its darkening geese, crags and

Canyon walls was created for separation; every union

We form dissolves an earlier union and this frightens us.

We have longings to touch and feel and in this subject

And object dichotomy we find our selves separate; no

Matter how much I admire her contours, I must be separate.

O Peter! You wanted to so much be with your Lord but

You knew the hour would come when you would have to

Separate; Perhaps he was trying to teach us of a new union.
