WEATHERED LOVE
O love, weathered by the return of spring
With its secretive light, cloud spectrals glide
Through the sky, colonnades of vapors move
Swiftly as all things succumb to change.
In this precipitous cascade of fomenting crisis,
You joined with the undines and salamanders
Of other elements to arrive in the gray ship of
Winter, the contour of love placed on the guitar.
O love, that passes and traverses over such change,
You do this to wake the blood of sleep and forgetfulness
By dancing though places invisible to the eye.
And through this exhaustive motion expending energy,
You even out the waves and wrinkles in the garment
Of love capturing its essence in these shadowy nets.
