Her Remember When Dream (long version)

Her heart jumped when he walked by.

The happiest she ever been with a guy.

He was one of her best friends.

She dreamed their life together would never end.

Then from the man that she adored

“I don’t think I love you anymore”.

Hurt in her core of her soul

She reluctantly let him go.

Now one year later her heart still stops with one hint that he may be near.

She has so much to say, wanting to tell him that she still holds him dear.

Friends comfort as she quietly held back her tears.

and she had hoped he would leave or just disappear.

“Remember When” by Alan Jackson started playing.

It was their song, the words she thought they were portraying

Remember when we said when we turned gray

When the children grow up and move away

We won't be sad, we'll be glad

For all the life we've had

      And we'll remember when

She remembers when he sang those words in her ear

He seemed to be so sincere?

Tonight all she could do was hope the song would stop playing

And that she would not remember the dismaying.

To her surprise, he tapped on her shoulder, “May I have this dance?”

Without saying a word, she stood up for another chance.

Her heart pounding, she held him tightly one more time.

He sang the song quietly in her ear again and the moment was sublime.

After the song was over, he kissed her lightly on the cheek.

her heart ached with sadness and she became weak.

He then looked in her eyes, not knowing where to begin

and said “I do still Remember When”
