In Slumber's Stellar Glow

So oft’ I’ve danced with thee in slumbers mist,

and rapt thy soul with sure undoubted charm,

for fantasy ne’er stops an awkward kiss,

nor shrugs away inept embracing arms.

In fancied dreams I’ve wooed and won thy heart,

for taunts and laughter’s sting ne’er foils hope,

and lovers in the mind shan’t drift apart,

nor tumble hard, down failure’s icy slope.

Perhaps we’ll join tonight in twilight’s haze,

to waltz amongst the stars celestial throng,

and lost within that heavens captive maze,

we’ll dance in dream’s escape, forever long.

By light of day, I’ll stay a nameless beau,

but win thy heart in slumber’s stellar glow.
