this world strips

away innocence

playing off the instant

naivete of the young

ones

taking away our sons

as they stand on the street

tapping their feet

to the sounds that they hear

while the music blasts in

their ear

unknowing of those thugs in the

corner

hungry, thirsty for the drug owner

all the while thinking that everything

will be okay

we're still waiting for that day

wondering when things are gonna go

the way we want it

without young girls having to flaunt it

to get ahead

let's work together instead

working together for a cause

because

this world is obviously out to get us

but we need to let love touch us

instead of hate

get out of the gate

of hate

making this world work for us instead

of it making us go crazy in our heads

let's pray together

love together

work together

for every man, woman, boy and girl

because we all have to live in

this world
