Today my heart told me
more than I ever knew.
It revealed the fact of
how much I'll miss you.

When I got your last letter
and it said good bye
right there at my desk
I started to cry.

I wanted to call you
and say  'please don't go'.
Instead I just wrote
I love you  you know.

The panic had set in
my mind felt the fear
my heart was so empty
to think you were't near.

So I thought of the past times
and read loving old letters
and it didn't take too long
for my heart to feel better.

I remembered the good times
and the fun that we had.
That this was a good thing
and it wasn't so bad.

Just then my mind told me
what I already knew.
It was just a vacation
so don't feel so blue.

So I will wait patiently
for the two weeks to pass
and another dear letter
when your home  at last.
