Putting one foot in front of the other,
I walk this torturous path.
I lay the foundation for a home,
underestimating life's wrath.
Yet we all must travel these roads,
With twists and turns come pain.
We lose and we win, yet in the end
there is nothing to gain.
We fight and we struggle time and time again
yet learn nothing of mistakes or mishaps
we fear we may lose ourselves,
yet we set our own traps.
This road is still winding,
under foot and toe,
we wonder around our lives,
unsure of where we must go.
We find paths we never wanted.
We find love we never knew.
We find moments in life,
many false yet some true.
Many will find doubt,
as hearts search for a home.
Because we regret what we know about,
and fear the unknown.
Memories will haunt seemingly happy lives,
news will derail our progress.
Yet eventually it arrives,
and we let it go.
