Back from battle, from death and pain
Back to being with families again
Soldiers return to live their lives
With their children, husbands and their wives
But they won’t forget what they have seen
Their memories and thoughts will never be clean
But still they try to carry on
To love, not fight, they stay strong
Until duty calls for them to fight
To serve their country, to end this blight.
