Walking along for such a short while
Trying to get your pace,
I learned to walk into the pierced arms of grace,
And at a closer look I saw the holes
in the palms that healed the sick....
I touched those palms and
felt a thrill of pain and love.
His immense love was flooding
from those holes, in those palms
that surround me.
And He draws me near to His heart
So I will feel His heartbeat
and He'll put His beat in my heart.
Now that I learned to walk in His arms
I'm swimming in the ocean of His unfathomable love,
it flows from all over,
I cannot hold it for me
and it bursts from me too,
I feel He's put it there....
and it's here to flow, for good.
And when you gave me the instructions
and learned a bit, you said:
"this is the way: press on",
then you flew away....
Now I find myself at the start of a new road, alone....
alone in the Arms surrounding me.
And it's all I need for now... and for ever.
He's promising to guide me and never forsake me.
He's just used you for a little while
to turn my eyes on Him,
and God is all we need.
Maybe you find yourself too
in the dawn of a new journey,
maybe you find yourself alone, too
but alone in the Arms surrounding you....
And He draws you near to His heart
so you will feel His heartbeat
and He'll put His beat in your heart,
He'll use you again,
and put you in someone else's life
to give instructions, to turn their eyes on God,
He'll guide you step by step,
...and me, too...
though we tread on separate roads
He'll lead us both to where
our two roads become one:
at the great gate of His Kingdom.
We're here not to cling to one another
we're here to cling to GOD, desperately,
Only this way we'll make it through
all that comes along our way up home.
Although the wind blows away
the tears dropping in the air
and though my heart is torn,
I'll fix my eyes in the eyes
that won't forget me.
You'll fix your eyes too,
in His perfect, loving eyes
and there you'll see
my reflection
and looking in His eyes I'll see
your reflection,
this way we both see each other
when we fix our eyes
in His Godly tender eyes.
