i don't want to tell you that i love you
because you don't need to know
all that will happen now
will take place in the air
in the space between us
that might be a million miles

the most beautiful thing is that i don't need to know
i don't need to know if you're in love again
i don't need to know where you are
or if your limbs are swinging
to some corner of a new song
or if you are hurting or if you are well

and you don't know
the faces of the people who fill my life with joy
111 of them, making me laugh as i write this
i hear them bickering with the art teacher in the other room
"i'm trying to teach you spanish!"
"2 chainz is a good rapper, mister!"
and you don't know
what my apartment looks like
what i look like
what i feel like
everything has changed

i don't want to tell you i love you because you don't need to know
the knowing won't help
now all i feel for you i save for myself and smile at the sky
