the strawberry mojito is sweet
the summer arrived with 15 mosquito bites and no need for sheets
i don't go to bed until after midnight
and i wake at 6 feeling like shit but its only bad for an hour and the drive
the drive to school is beautiful

i'm not attached
to a dream or to a man although
i really don't mind if you take over the grill it doesn't offend me
i was the one with the great idea to get tilapia and beer
i hope you don't think i'm an alcoholic cause i'm always drinking around you
i just like to celebrate
the fact that you are here
and dancing
with me

everything is good and i don't believe how good it is
i've got a pile of books beside my bed and plans
plans to visit you, love
plans to widen my world

my gratitude and my astonishment are
balloons in my chest

it is that time in the summer when the sun demands
