SEATTLE TO OLYMPIC

From visiting Seattle to seeing whales from the port side of a ship…

so many new experiences keep cropping up this trip…

We crossed the Puget Sound on a giant Ferry boat…

then drove across the Hood Canal on a bridge that was built to float.

As we drove out of Seattle, the tall pines and a host of new flowers

were a delight for us to see.

And, as planned, we reached Port Angeles too early to enter Air B & B.

So we drove into Olympic National Park…where it began to rain a smidge

but the mist and the foggy roads didn’t deter us from driving to Hurricane Ridge.

Which was great because once we arrived…just a little after midday…

the rain had stopped the fog had lifted and what we saw took our breath away

The sun peeking through the clouds…made the entire region glow

In the distance the Olympic Mountains made an appearance…their peaks speckled with snow.

Down below us in the grassy meadow…leisurely lounging we saw a family of deer

and soon after we arrived a woodchuck family appeared.

We took a walk on top of the ridge…there was a quiet solitude everywhere…

we saw patches of snow in June…as the smell of pine trees filled the air…

I don’t think I can find the words to express exactly what we were feeling…

the stunning, magnificent beauty nature was revealing.

Perhaps the best way to describe…exactly what I’m talking about

Is to tell you Deborah and I stood their speechless…

our mouths were open, ready to speak…but our words would not come out.

Next we visited the beauty of Lake Crescent surrounded by the Olympic peaks

And for the second time that day…we tried but could not speak.

As we pulled up to our tiny house that will be our home for the next two days

I was thinking how the beauty of this day…both fascinated and amazed….

And there is no better way to describe…the beauty we experienced today…

than to say not only did it take our breath…but all our words away.
