As I was watching the setting sun, the thought occurred to me
That God was painting a masterpiece for all the world to see.
He was using purples and pinks in every hue,
Reds and oranges and each shade of blue,
Here and there touches of green and great slashes of gold,
All painted with brush strokes bold.
The picture kept changing like a kaleidoscope in the sky.
The awe and wonder of its beauty was enough to make me cry.
I continued watching until the sky turned black,
Thinking, without God's wonders, how much life would lack.
