My Father's Tennis Racquets

I remember Holding my father’s tennis racquets when I was little. He had played tennis all his life and when I was very young, he inspired me to start playing the sport. I remember going every weekend to play with him in a Tennis club, I really enjoyed it. He would often tell me stories about how hard he trained when he was young and about the national tournaments he played. He never won any important tournament, but all his stories about all his years playing tennis made me train very hard. This happened when I was about eight years old, and after a very long time trying to find a sport I would like. Now I didn’t have to look into other places, because since the moment I began playing with my father, I knew that Tennis was the sport I was supposed to practice. I began going to Tennis clases and began to prepare myself for tournaments. After a few years of training very hard every day, I entered my first national tournament and There is when all began. I started to compete in almost every national tournament I could and in every tournament I competed in, there was my father always watching my matches and supporting me. Even when I had to travel to others states to compete, my father would come with me. After a few years competing I was number eleven in the national raking of Venezuela. When I told that to my father he told me he was very proud of me and that he was happy that thanks to him showing me the sport, I was now really close to be in the top 10 of my country. I kept competing but soon after we were told by the company that my father was working in that he had to move to Monterrey, Mexico. So I didn’t have the chance to get top five or top ten in Venezuela. Soon after I arrived to Mexico I kept competing but I had now many other things to do because I was now studying high school and it got to the point where I had to decide wether its tennis or school, so I chose school and stopped playing tennis. Nowadays, every time I see the racquets which my father used the first time I played tennis, all of these good memories come to my mind
