Careless gesture. Indifference.
Soon
The fresh turn into the same;
Environment crash.
Unpardonable inaction, this, "No concern"
Of the wise --
Drowning interest, sinking into deliberate
Ignorance --
It has no, unconscious letdowns.
Do the leaders understand; Take interest
to sustain? Too, busy in mere
Stock exchange--
Neglecting the real, state of affairs.
Breathe fresh, live fresh in cleanliness
Body, mind, soul and address--
Old age secure.
Choice, ours.
Dear Jayati, Nepal!! where the rhododendron
bushes grow 90 feet high! God protect all
trees and remove all tree butchers, not just
the Nepal forestry minister.. from power!

I love this poem because it expresses emotions and thoughts which I have had for a long time. Why doesn't the government see the need for long range thinking and problem solving?

So very VERY true. And what is even more stupid is that most of the environmental and social reforms that should go through, would do so much long term good and actually save money and time and resources. Like public transit would save the air, fuel, farmable land, energy for commuters. Organic food would save the land, air, our health. Peace and social justice would be helpful and beneficial in innumerable ways. Yes does the government and the wealthy population work towards these things? NO!
