- Feelings
Whenever I go to the ocean, I am surrounded by all of these different sensations: peace, freedom, wellness and happiness. The ocean is one of the most beautiful places on earth that a person can visit. Peace is one the most incredible feelings one can get in the ocean, the sound of the waves put me in a very relaxing mood. Also, the ocean makes me feel free, once I place a feet in the sand, I know that I am on vacation, and my mind frees from all thought of work. Wellness is also a sensation that the ocean makes me feel. When I go to a beach, I like jogging in the sand beside the water, and I feel healthy. And at last, happiness is something that the ocean makes me feel. When I am on vacation and look at the ocean, my head is just full of happy thoughts and I take out the most of the vacation trip.
- Favorite Possession
My favorite possession is an electric guitar. A few years ago I bought an Ibanez electric guitar, I worked for the whole summer, and with the money earned, I went to the music store and bought this guitar. To me, this is an amazing item, and it is really important because it represents the first thing I bought with my own money. The summer when I bought it, I felt really proud of myself, and since then I have taken a really good care of this guitar. This item reveals the hard work I put into that summer to buy my dream electric guitar.
- My feelings towards the short story "Gaston" by William Saroyan's
After reading William Saroyan’s “Gaston,” my partner feels angry because of the attitude of the mother and I feel sad because the girl wants to stay a couple of more days with her father. My partner feels really angry because she didn't like the mother attitude towards the girl’s fantasy; it is really obvious that the mother didn't want the girl to believe in her father’s story. It was also kind of selfish of the mother to want to take the girl away so soon after she basically had just met her father and was having a good time with him. I am sad for the little girl because she says to her father that she doesn't want leave him, she wants to stay in Paris, but her mother influenced her to go back to New York. I think it is normal for a girl that young that follows her mother’s advice. I also feel sad for the father, because after so many years of not seeing her daughter, now he has the opportunity to have her home and play with her, and his ex-wife takes away the girl so fast and without an explanation.
- Racism
I think that in the United States an incident like the one in the story, where white people, the cops, and the priest discriminated a person is really difficult that it happen now a day. The reason for a discrimination incident not happening today is because since the last century, people have being fighting to defend human rights and to treat everyone equally. Also, the United States is a country that has a lot of immigrants, so the mixture of cultures makes people realize that even though people are physically different, they deserve to be treated with respect and have the same rights as everybody.
- Special Day
It was December of 2010, when Jorge and his friends went to Tec de Monterrey stadium to watch the championship soccer game, Rayados against Santos. This day way so special to Jorge because he has a big passion for soccer, especially for Rayados which obviously is his favorite team. Jorge went to the stadium with the high expectation of watching his team winning the championship game. Fortunately, it was one of the most exciting matches Jorge has ever attended, Rayados won the championship and Jorge saw one of the best goals ever, a goal made by Humberto Suazo, Rayados best striker. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best days in Jorge’s life.
