Sky Dreams

Folder:
Early 20s

Every night as the sky fades to dark allowing us to peacefully slumber.
We drift off into our wild and imaginative dreams; each dream unique.
Often imagining the things and experiences we want in life.
But what we don’t know is that the sky dreams too.

As the sky drifts off to sleep, leaving the world blanketed with stars;
He dreams of a life like ours, freely walking and roaming the earth,
Meeting and greeting other people, holding hands,
And laying in the park looking up at itself;
Even further day dreaming what it wants out of its human life.

But, like us, the sky always wakes up;
Reaching its sunny rays across the earth’s landscape,
Signaling to us to arise from our own dream filled slumbers;
Where we’ve spent the night meeting and greeting other people.

Where I spend the night... Finally holding your hand,
Lying in the park, looking over at you... Even further day dreaming still...

A student of mine was trying to write a personification poem about the sky dreaming. She said something about the sky lying in the park. This is what I came up with as a result.
