CRUMPLED UP KLEENEX

I roll over to glance at the creases your body made.

Your smell still keen in my senses, my pillow dampened with our sweat.

You left before dawn had broken, before the awkward stage could set in.

I guess you didn't care enough to simply say goodbye.

Loneliness and shame strike me as harsh as the sun rising, creeping in.

I thought maybe, you would be different.

Hoping I guess, that I would mean more to you, than the crumpled up Kleenex on the floor.

Used for my hips, my mouth, and my legs, never knowing the strength of my soul, or the degree of my intelligence.

You made the mistake of fleeing fast without a backward glimpse, when I was willing to give you more than my hips, lips, mouth, and legs, I was inclined to give you my everything, but for now I'll strip the sheets and take a hot shower.

The scalding water may wash away your smell, your sweat, your taste, but never will I regain last night.

Or wash away the thoughts of what could have been.

With this I get the great

With this I get the great sense of the difference between sex, connection, and the possibility of something greater... but also the oppostite, the feeling of just being glorified masturbation, a physical prop... very well executed.
