6. Yellow Roses

LOVE POEMS

(To My Love in Neverland 6)

In a city market a girl came

As I slowly walk on by.

“Flowers ma’am?”, she asked.

She’s holding up a bucket,

Full of beautiful yellow roses.

On the yellow roses I stared,

Smiled as my heart melt.

“Yes, please.” I replied.

Away I walked smelling the petals

Of a dozen of beautiful yellow roses.

A dozen of beautiful yellow roses.

To whom would I give it to?

I wish I could send it to you.

How would you send flowers to Neverland?

And if I did, would you understand?

That I love you, even if it seems such a big joke.

That I’m missing you, I haven’t even seen you.

That I care about you, even if you don’t know-

That I exist- I am here…I tried…

But for these wishes and roses, Neverland is just so far.

Yellow roses, so beautiful.

Set on a vase beside my windowsill.

Where I can always see you…and touch you.

A dozen of beautiful yellow roses-

Effigy of a dream come true.

Yellow roses, so beautiful.

If I could, I hope to wipe away your tears.

And say the message I’ve been keeping all these years.

A dozen of beautiful yellow roses-

Make you mine.

Yellow roses, you make me cry.

I know soon you have to wilt and die.

But these dreams would not say goodbye with you.

I still wish I could give you to my love’s hand.

But my love is living in the world of Neverland.
