I’ve been here before
Traveled in circles,
Hurried upstairs
Only to realize
That I was going down.
Closed the door and ran away,
Peeped in each window.
Outside, looking in.
Only to realize
I was inside, reaching out.
Been trapped in the speed and vastness
Of my own time and space.
No ceilings, floors or walls,
Only vague images
Of bright dreams.
I’ve been here before.
I remember I got tired
Of running past through each door,
Of swaying, sliding and falling.
I stopped and fell asleep.
It was in resting
That I felt at peace.
It was in slowing down
That I understood where I was.
As soon as I did, I gained freedom.
I have been in life’s labyrinth and back…
been there again.
AND IT’S ALWAYS A GREAT JOURNEY.
