"My Sister's Rings"
One year ago my sister received her engagement ring, a beautiful white gold ring with a diamond in the middle; inside it has engraved the phrase “I will always love you Oly” in italian and the date on which my sister and her husband met. Although it sounds difficult, from the day that he set the ring on her finger, her life changed totally. Love took hold of her being; her smile was even more brilliant than the sun. When people were next to her, she could transmit her happiness instantly; in the same way, everyone felt surprised whenever they saw the ring shining in her finger and then, they would start asking her at least 5 questions about how Gianluca gave it to her, and stuff about when the wedding was going to be. Of course she answered them with a big smile on her face because she kept remembering every single detail like if she could see pictures of the moment in her head. No matter that it happened a while ago, when you are happy at some moment you will have it forever in your mind and when my sister sees her ring finger she can't avoid smiling. One day exactly when this was happening she entered the internet to search about the history of the rings and she found out that the hard and eternal material of the ring symbolizes what the marriage is supposed to be, in other words, it has to prevail forever. It also says that when the man gives the ring he has to feel totally sure about his feelings for her, this doesn't mean to find the perfect person, but to love perfectly the imperfect person. When I see my sister and her actual husband I can assure that this is true. The engagement ring of my sister no matter that it’s just an object it already has a long history. In consequence, one day my sister went to the mall and she lost it and she didn’t notice until she arrived home, she cried and yelled because she was so sad and angry at the same time, then she calmed down and said a phrase that everyone in my house kept on their minds: “No matter that I don’t have it right now with me, at the end of the day, that ring belongs to me because it was designed for me to have it, is just one another thing that remember how much we love each other”. On the next day we went to the mall and in one of the stores we entered to ask about it, the girl said she kept it because she noticed that it was an engagement ring because of the engraved it had inside. My sister and I were totally happy about it and in that moment the phrase she said before took a real meaning, the ring was designed for her and with her it had to stay. Just 17 days ago mi sister received her second ring but this time it was the marriage one, it was on the church in front of God making the eternal promise of being faithful to each other for the rest of their life. Every time I see my sister’s hand I realize how two rings can give your destiny a 360º turn by reason of the sentimental value, all the feelings they have implicit when people use them. From now on my sister Oly and her husband Gianluca are the architects of their new life together.
