As I lay here

My last breath slipping from my chest

I allow myself to feel

As if this moment is my best

This one final flutter of my lungs

Is a culmination of all the same before

As if each breath was a song sung

And this song is a release of all the tension stored

So I breathe deep

As this moments slips  past

And give thanks for this moments

for there is no breath like your last
