At one point in the great "Hymn To The Sea"
(Horner's) beneath the primary melody
the strings---in gentle, contrary motion drawn---
play one phrase out of "My Heart Will Go On."
This towering, awesome artistic height
belittles other worldly efforts, manic
in effort and, in sole impression, dull.
More than an elegy to the Titanic,
the Hymn offers an archetypal call
to Love---endless in joy, and never daunted.
Here is the soul's existence clad in sound.
To write such perfect music is profound;
to hear it is to be forever haunted---
affected beyond words . . . intimately.
Starward
