Well I can’t always be

Both a puppet and a tree

But I’m still tyring



And I can’t seem to hide

Everything that spins around inside my head



I wash my face of the trace

Of the simple fact that

I’ve been crying



But I can’t hide the wrong

Cuz I’m still lying here inside my bed



I am afraid what to say

When you plead for me to stay

Because I’ll hurt you



And I know you don’t know

The little things that turn me

Up-side down



So I wish that I could fly

Finally be the other guy

Who’d always please you



But I’m me and so you see

That for me it seems to be…

As a rock upon the sand

Because I’m lying



And my head seems to flow

Like a river pouring into a stream



So I fall to the floor

Just like every time before

I think I’m dying



And my words float away

Cuz they never say the things that I mean

Because I love you



But I know you don’t know

Up-side down



And I shrink just to think

That our love is on the brink

I want to please you
