the average teen

is not the best

but you told me

I'm not like the rest

that I've been blessed

with unaverageness

the average teen

might give in

but you pushed me

cause you knew I'd win

I've used this for good

just as you knew I would

when all hope was shattered

into little tiny bits

the average teen

might call it quits

but my gift proved its worth

and I was determinded to go forth

when the average teen is lost

and doesn't know what to do

a mother will give advice

and they might turn against you

but as you taught me

I was never average

and I never will be

so when the average teen

is pushing you two apart

just remember this

you'll always be in my heart
