Indefinitely suspended
Between dreams and reality
Feeding on insanity
I float,
As chaos slices thru my calm
I am almost numb
From a pain-induced drug
And still
I hold on to the silken needle
As I see your mirage, a real illusion
The highest depths, the clarity of confusion
The blackest white, angelic devil
An absent presence, my ecstatic depression
I dreamed that I was dreaming
And in that dream within a dream,
A real insanity, an insane reality
The constant longing of the heart
Telling you to not wake up
Float in dreams, drown in memories
Like a mantra and a prayer,
It fills my aching lungs
Like oxygen that reminds me to exhale
But don't forget to hold your breath
Or the dream will go away
Once there was a dream
No end, just beginnings
