The moonlight filtered through the blinds
Rendering the room in flimsy streaks of silver
Outside, the world is quiet
Except for the occasional nocturnal feline purrs
And the rustling of the trees.
The breeze blew ever so softly
And lifted the edge of the satin sheets,
And ever so gently it touched the floor again.
I felt a slight coldness kiss my bare shoulder,
but I didn't mind that at all, for the rest of me is warm,
I rose up on one elbow, cradling my head in one hand
And felt the inexplainable stirring in my heart.
Tonight, fate is generous, for I have you
And it seems like morning will never come.
Tracing a finger along your cheek
I listened to you beathe
And with the rising and falling of your chest
I feel myself being taken in by your very essence.
Tonight, nothing else matters
And all is just perfect as I breath with you
And drink my fill
Just looking at your beautiful sleeping face.
