Burning Red

Red swirls sweep though the mind

Signaling the rage within

A peaceful blue that was once its creed

Now a memory of the past

This rage seems to engulf once more

Although it's dark I see it vividly

A painful color, it burns the eyes

But like a roaring flame

No one can withstand its presence

Flame, it never did appeal

But now, it's helplessly consuming.

If I burn from this, it's inevitable

There is no rain to drench as well

How can one stop the swirling of color

That unconsciously poisons the mind

Pain grips the weakened maiden

For this red to burn her from the inside ..
