How resilient is the human heart?
It can break into a thousand pieces
But with the passage of time
Without a doubt
Riddles are answered
And puzzles are solved.
If memories were grains of sand
Kept within each crevice
The heart would overflow
In emotions powerful,
Often barely contained
Always overwhelming,
But still it beats
Steady and strong,
Never fading
With each painful flow,
Never faltering
Though the body wishes so.
If tears were kisses of destiny
Then I have been loved by fate,
It cleanses, washes away the longing
Infinitely binds the tattered soul
Makes me float forever
In this turbulent ocean of my being
Until I struggle no more.
